1 way:

Dial 25 air loops, close them in a ring.

Sew the neck in such a way that the center of the opening of the neck is between the 11th and 12th rows.

2 way:

Set a marker (I use a tailor’s pin) between rows 11 and 12 of the body.

Cast on 25 sts around marker.

1 – 6 rows: 25 SC. Leave the thread for sewing on the head.

I am using the 2nd method.

I don’t stuff the neck with filler, but I use a wooden bead with a diameter of 18 mm, I just put it in the resulting hole. So the head will hold much better.

whites of the eyes

Squirrels can be knitted in a spiral. The detail is small.

Knit with white cotton thread. Close the chain of 5CH into a ring.

1 row: 6SC in ring (6)

Row 2: In each SC of the previous row, work 2 SC (12).

3 – 4 rows: 12 SC (12)

5 row: 6 decreases

Similarly, tie the second part.

Making the face of the horse

1. Sew on the ears in the places indicated by red pins. The distance between ears 12 – 13 columns. Pull the ears at the base a little. Sew on with leftover thread.

2. Sew on the eyes.

There is no need to sew on the squirrels separately, I attach them together with black eye beads. The place for the eye is marked with a yellow pin. When sewing the eyelet, pull them slightly towards each other.

You can embroider a black outline around the proteins – the eyes will become more expressive. Finish the eyebrows and mouth with black cotton thread. While our horse looks like a donkey.

Making the horse’s mane

Cut the strands about 25 cm long. The excess can be trimmed when the mane is ready.

We fasten 1 row of the mane from ear to ear. For this:

– fold the thread in half;

– for the place of the fold we stretch the loop with a crochet hook on both sides of the SC

– we stretch the free ends of the thread into a loop

– tighten the thread I fasten the mane to the place marked with blue pins. You can attach the threads through the row or each row, depending on how thick the mane will be.

When you have made the first row of the mane, make a couple more rows in front of it towards the muzzle. If you had 10 threads in the first row, make 8 in the second and 6 in the third.

Horse assembly

1. Sew the legs very carefully. First the front, then the back. The distance between

front and back legs – 6 rows.

2. Make a ponytail. Cut the threads about 20 cm long. Pull them in at the location

ponytail. Tie a knot.

3. If desired, you can tie a bridle to the muzzle. To do this, tie a chain of 150 air loops and sew it on the muzzle. I do not sew, I just pull the knitted chain on the muzzle, and then tie a knot under the mane.

The size of my horse: 16 cm in height, 13-14 cm in length.

That’s all. Our horse is ready.

I hope you enjoy knitting it.
