Body:

We start to knit with a beige thread

1: 6 sc in amigurumi ring [6]

2: increase x 6 [12]

3: (sc, increase) x 6. [18]

4: (2 sc, increase) x 6. [24]

5: 24 sc. [24]

6: 24 sc. [24]

7: (3 sc, increase) x 6. [30]

8 – 10: 30 sc. [thirty]

Change the thread to light green.

11:30 sc. [thirty]

12: Working to the back of the hinges, 30 sc. [thirty]

13 – 17: 30 sc. [thirty]

18: (3 sc, decrease) x 6. [24]

19: (2 sc, decrease) x 6. [18] Stuff body

20: (sc, decrease) x 6. [12]

21: decrease x 6. [6]

Close knitting and hide the thread. If you have a different color of pants, then do not forget to change the thread in the 16th row. In row 12, where you knit only on the back of the loop, we knit a beard. We use fluffy yarn:

skip 5 sts, 7 sc, 2 hdc, 2 dc, 2 hdc, 7 sc and leave 5 more sts. Close knitting and hide the thread. The stitches you missed will be your shirt.

For the Simpleton, we knit ss in the front loops of the 12th row.

Hands / Feet and Ears (do 6)

We use beige thread to make 2 hands & 2 ears (ears are knitted only for the Simpleton). We use brown thread for legs.

1: 4 sc in the amigurumi ring.

2: (sc, increase) x 2. [6] Close knit and leave long thread to sew on.

Belt

We use brown thread. We make 32 ch. You can adjust the length of the belt by adding or subtracting the number of VP.

Hat

Use a color that matches your gnome.

1: 6 sc in amigurumi ring [6]

2: increase x 6 [12]

3 – 5: 12 sc. [12]

6: (sc, increase) x 6. [18]

7 – 9: 18 sc. [eighteen]

10: (2 sc, increase) x 6. [24]

11:24 sc. [24]

12: (3 sc, increase) x 6. [30]

13:30 sc. [thirty]

14: (4 sc, increase) x 6. [36]

15 – 17: 36 sc. [36]

Close knitting and leave thread for sewing. You can stuff the hat lightly to keep it in shape.

Secure the tip of the hat with 1 stitch so that it folds over.

We sew all the details together. Use felt to create the eyes and eyebrows and embroider the nose.
